DEA MATRONA (Rock): Dea Matrona’s rise is built on a fierce DIY mentality: the duo has honed their sound over years on stage, building a loyal fanbase and self-funding their own releases.
Their debut album, For Your Sins, released in 2024, climbed to number one on the Independent Breakers chart, received airplay on BBC Radio 1, led them to Glastonbury, and also saw them support Canadian rockers The Beaches on tour.
This summer, the duo will accompany icon Sting on the road, bringing their hybrid sounds to even larger stages.
While their music is infused with a strong nostalgia, reminiscent of the hazy choruses crafted by legendary bands like Fleetwood Mac and The Cranberries, Dea Matrona’s lucid lyrics remain firmly rooted in the present.
Writing and recording most of their songs together in the back of the van they share on tour, the duo transforms their feelings of imposter syndrome and frustrations with the world around them into energetic, confident, and attitude-filled rock tracks.
