D.N.E Trio

D.N.E.

E. stands for Dynamique Non Efficiente (Non-Efficient Dynamics). "Non-efficient" because we believe that the musical gesture does not have to be efficient, effective, or productive, but rather sincere and generous. This is the idea we seek to convey in our music.

We met at the Pôle Supérieur de Paris within the jazz department, and it was after two months of training that we decided to set up this project. It was obvious for all three of us; there was no need to ask questions, the music flowed, and so did our human relationships.

E trio is primarily a composition project with a raw aesthetic, due in particular to its instrumentation (tenor saxophone, double bass, drums), but always with care given to writing singing melodies, bringing roundness to the group's sound.

We aim to write simple, clear pieces, to leave room for improvisation, allowing each member to express their sensibility.
