Overview
Since their formation in 2014, Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller have cultivated one of the most devoted fanbases in the underground scene under the name Boy Harsher.
Their first EP, *Lesser Man* — which features the cult track “Pain” — was initially released as a limited-edition cassette before being uploaded to YouTube by a fan.
They continued their momentum with the album *Yr Body is Nothing* (2016) and the EP *Country Girl* (2017), paving the way for the critically acclaimed album *Careful* (2019), as well as *The Runner* (2022) — a project that was both an album and a film — for which the duo handled the writing, production, and soundtrack.
Boy Harsher has consistently explored new horizons at the fringes of darkwave, industrial music, and electro.
Their characteristic blend of hypnotic synthesizers, pounding rhythms, and Jae Matthews' magnetic vocals has influenced a new generation of artists, while also helping to propel minimal synth, EBM, and dark electronic music from underground clubs to festival stages worldwide.
