One day, I allowed myself to delve into my memory to construct the narrative of a particular childhood, freeing myself from family realities. Because no one ever wanted or was able to tell me, I'm taking on the task: Bouches cousues tells the story of Philippe Cantrelle, born in Madagascar in 1963. Carelessly navigating the years of decolonisation, clinging to his family totems, the little boy creates a tailor-made memory, riddled with silence. This story is punctuated by small moments of wonder and great upheavals; we laugh, we cry, while the imperative need to untie these 'sewn mouths' gradually asserts itself.
