Be4 explores the spirit of Gerry Mulligan's famous Californian quartet — whose centenary 2027 will mark — and Chet Baker, one of the most beautiful chapters in West Coast jazz history. Carried by the noble and singular breath of trumpeter Stéphane Belmondo, surrounded by three high-flying accomplices — Xavier Richardeau on baritone saxophone, Thomas Bramerie on double bass, and Dré Pallemaerts on drums — the quartet revisits this emblematic aesthetic with finesse and freedom, infusing it with a resolutely contemporary and vibrant freshness. An album is expected in Autumn 2026 (Continuo Jazz), and concerts are announced for next summer and throughout the 26/27 season.
