In our Éphémère Galerie at Comptoir des Voyages on rue Saint-Victor in Paris, discover Sur les rivages d’Asie, an exhibition by artist Rosemary Taleb-Rivière. Fascinated by the encounter between cultural heritage and living landscapes, she travelled across Asia for several months. Between coastlines and volcanoes, her ink drawings tell of the power of the elements and the beauty of the lives that depend on them, in a sensitive tribute to a planet shaped and celebrated by ancestral cultures. Rosemary Taleb-Rivière discovered China during her art history studies. She visited several times from 2013 onwards. Her 2019 trip gave rise to her first sketchbook, the starting point of a vocation: to draw others in black ink, a style that has become her artistic signature. Since then, between literary and artistic projects, exhibitions and festivals, she has continued this dialogue with the world. This exhibition traces a production of ink drawings created during nine months of travel. Six months following the coasts from Thailand to Japan in 2023, then three months hiking on active and extinct volcanoes of the Japanese archipelago in 2025. Setting out to discover cultures, it was ultimately the charms of blue horizons and the richness of Nature that became the main subject. An ode to our planet cherished by ancestral cultures.
