Sabine Devieilhe, a soprano from the world's greatest stages, escapes with the duo i Giardini for an intimate cabaret, directed by Laurent Pelly. Smile! or the joy of making music and theatre together, at last. Let's smile together! From Cora Vaucaire to Stephen Sondheim, from Annie Cordy to Édith Piaf or Joséphine Baker, Smile! is a cabaret where the boundaries between repertoires are abolished with jubilant freedom. Sabine Devieilhe temporarily leaves the grand opera stages to reunite with Pauline Buet on cello and David Violi on piano, who founded the i Giardini collective. Together, in original arrangements by Emmanuel Touchard, the trio cultivates a rare complicity, that of three musicians who love theatre as much as music. Laurent Pelly, well-known on major French and international stages, directs a production that magnifies this vocal performance into true musical theatre.
