Le Festival mois kréyol 2026 - #10

The 10th edition of the festival will take place from September 22 to December 06, 2026, in Paris, Marseille, Avignon, Strasbourg, Nantes, Rennes, or Toulouse. It continues in the Antilles-Guyana in January 2026.

Created in 2017, the Festival mois kréyol, "festival lang épi kilti kréyol" aims to address the strong challenges of representation for creolised and mixed cultures within the French cultural landscape.

Organised by the company Difé Kako, it has brought together nearly 15,000 people around 95 artistic and cultural proposals.

This demonstrates the interest of both mainland French and overseas audiences in drawing from the vitality of all Creole cultures offered by the multitude of established, emerging, or amateur transatlantic artists from here and elsewhere.

"We are very proud of the progress made in ten years: a festival now present in 12 territories, in mainland France and the Antilles/Guyana, a festival built with the custodians of Creole cultural heritage, a festival that has successfully met its audience in 10 years.

We have grown from 1,000 spectators to 15,000! " The Festival Le Mois Kréyol is a journey into the heart of Creole cultures, encompassing heritage, contemporary creations, encounters, and transmission.

From the outset, its aim has been to offer overseas artists genuine support, visibility, and opportunities in metropolitan France.

Its ambition remains the same: to consider this mutual aid and support essential in overcoming the difficulties that any artistic company may encounter, especially when they are invisible.

This tenth anniversary is an opportunity to take stock but also to highlight, as in each edition, individuals who have marked the history of Afro-descendance.

This year, it wishes to spotlight Guyana and the great personalities who have marked French history, such as Léon Gontran Damas, Mme Taubira and her law... and with even greater acuity, October 28 will celebrate the International Day of Creole Culture and Language.
