How can we not mention Edith Piaf, Yves Montand or Jacques Brel? Or the one who is still considered the myth of French song today, Charles Aznavour? These are poetic texts, speaking of love and indifference, joy and solitude, friendship and everyday life, which suggested the choreographic work that unfolds in a succession of independent scenes. It is a work that, by playing with cultural stereotypes and moving from irony to nostalgia, tells everyday stories and speaks of emotions. An evening of dance dedicated to French music could not but feature Maurice Ravel's Boléro, a piece with explosive power and a brilliant structure, an obsessive rhythm evoking seduction, made immortal by very great choreographers and performers. However, Le Ballet de Milan's version finds another interpretation. It is not only a game of seduction, but the eternal story of a birth, an inevitable attraction to a similar being, a multiplication of encounters. It is a life that, as it is born, dies out in solitude.
