Mami Watta reclaims the "Je vous salue Marie" as an act of liberating affirmation: from her Catholic childhood in Abidjan to her arrival in Paris, and onto the stages of Drag Race, she transforms each of her trials into theatrical weapons and bursts of laughter. Joyful blasphemy, frontal humour: the queen asserts herself without ever asking for forgiveness in a flamboyant stand-up.

In this irreverent show – where she dismantles religion, “wokism,” and family pressures with rhythmic, direct, and unfiltered speech – Mami Watta recounts her extraordinary journey.

It’s an opportunity for her to question what some call “deviancy” or “excess” – too queer, too Black, too visible – by using shade, that biting and often scathing humour from ballroom culture, which disarms as much as it liberates.
