For this singer is above all a man of his time, a man whose hilarious romantic journey we will follow by delving into the repertoire of French humorous songs, from the Roaring Twenties to the Left Bank cabarets of the post-war era. His pianist, Christophe Manien, accompanies him and offers his silent retorts. Their complete complicity transforms this recital into a true music-hall show that Gilles Bugeaud, with his deadpan humour, has designed around songs composed by the greatest specialists of the genre - Bourvil, Fernandel, les Frères Jacques, Boby Lapointe or Jean Yanne - but also some rare gems to discover!
