The story of a little ant who, while trying to find her place among her own, discovers the secrets of bread making.

Once upon a time, there was a tiny, microscopic little ant, so small that she was called “Petite Fourmi” (Little Ant): that says it all! That year, food was hard to find and even harder to bring back to the anthill. But one day, Petite Fourmi bumped into something she had never seen in nature, something golden, fragrant, crunchy, exquisite: it was a breadcrumb. So, to find out where this bread comes from and how to get some for everyone, Petite Fourmi sets off. She meets the Queen of Butterflies, the plump Field Mouse, and even the ill-tempered Spider. The actress, with reassuring sweetness, will create this little ant before the children's eyes from pieces of bread, and they will all follow them on this unexpected journey, punctuated by melodies and little songs, where the characters will sometimes be represented as simple and identifiable puppets, and sometimes by the actress herself within an ingenious staging that will make her change character in the blink of an eye with the help of various costume elements. Similarly, the pretty set, simple and effective, will transform throughout the story to represent a worktop, a mill, and even a bread oven. For Véronique Balme, the author and performer, the desire came from wanting to tell the cycle of bread, this food found on all continents.
