A Frenchman by birth, exiled since his earliest childhood in the hostile land of Belgium, the now Brussels-based Florent Losson presents “Mowgli”, a debut show with multiple cultural inspirations. From Belgian absurdism to French prose, he offers a rhythmic, gentle, and hilarious show with numerous societal allusions. His comedic timing, digressions, and punchlines hit the mark without ever losing sight of the underlying message. From his life as a young, single, thirty-something uncle to his community involvement, and his analyses of Love – particularly his take on his divorce, which would have seemed more romantic had it been a widowhood and would have allowed him to become the embittered “young-old man” he always dreamed of being; Florent takes us into his world, that of a good, sensitive, and delightfully likeable guy, yet one who flirts with a gentle madness.
