Festival 2026 - Stefano Di Battista Quintet

Following his public success with over thirty French quartet concerts, he is now tackling a new repertoire with his transalpine group, on a new album titled La Dolce Vita (March 2024).

A lover of melody, a magician of timbre, Stefano Di Battista brings to life the themes made famous by Paolo Conte, Andrea Bocelli, Lucio Dalla, while also honouring composers like Renato Carosone or Armando Trovajoli.

" In the dreamlands of this timbre magician, we encounter instrumental revisits of Paolo Conte's famous song Via con me; Nicola Piovani's La vita è bella; Bobby Solo's hit, Una lacrima sul viso; Con te partirò, written by Francesco Sartori and Lucio Quarantotto and popularised by Andrea Bocelli, or even Roma nun fa la stupida stasera, written by Armando Trovajoli and the duo Garinei e Giovannini from the famous opera Caruso by Lucio Dalla.

"So I decided," Stefano Di Battista explains, "that the best approach was to let the tunes guide me, to enter their melodic structures and discover their core in order to improvise.

In other words, I didn't just want to produce tracks containing solos, but unique entities connecting exposition and improvisation. "
