Concert Schubert-Rumi : piano et poésie mystique

A piano concert-reading blending Schubert's lieder with Rûmi's mystical poetry, by pianist Layla Ramezan and reciter Leili Anvar.

There are encounters that transcend time and space. The music of Schubert and the poetry of Rûmi recognise each other in this way: like two souls separated by centuries but born from the same vital breath.

This poetic concert originates from the meeting of the mystical worlds of two great geniuses of music and literature: Franz Schubert and Jalal al-din Rûmi, whose fascinating tonalities (the former) and profound poetic rhythm (the latter) have deeply influenced pianist Layla Ramezan.

She has therefore enlisted Leili Anvar, a renowned translator and specialist in mystical literature, to create a piano concert where works by the Viennese composer are intertwined with readings of poems by the great 13th-century Persian poet, translated into French and read in Persian and French by Leili Anvar.
