Concert du Trio Au Vivo

The trio Ao Vivo, flute, guitar, and percussion, plays Roland Dyens's compositions and arrangements of popular Brazilian and Latin American music.

Roland Dyens always had a great love for Latin American music, and particularly Brazilian music which, as he used to say, flowed in his veins. During his first concerts between 1977 and 1981, he would play a first part as a soloist and a second part dedicated to Brazilian music with his musicians Yannick Le Goff (Flute), Jean-Luc Ceddaha and Paul Mindy (Percussion), Michel Terrioux (Vibraphone) and Jean-Christophe Hoareau (Double Bass and Percussion). Today, for the concerts commemorating the 10th anniversary of his passing, a trio is reforming around Orestis Kalampalikis, a student of Roland Dyens at the CNSMDP, Yannick Le Goff, the flutist, and Paul Mindy, percussionist, both from Roland Dyens's "historic" group. This trio, named Ao Vivo, in memory of Roland Dyens's trio CD, plays Roland Dyens's compositions and arrangements of popular Brazilian and Latin American music.

First part: Austin Tango by Roland Dyens

The participants of the Roland Dyens in the Skaï guitar workshop, led by Jérémy Jouve and Orestis Kalampalikis, will perform Austin Tango, a composition for guitar ensemble by Roland Dyens, under the direction of the latter. Created on April 25, 2009, at the Northwest Hills United Church in Austin (Texas), the composition was played by 100 guitarists gathered under the direction of Michel Quantz, in the presence of the composer. It was then played on June 11, 2009, at George Mason University under the direction of Roland Dyens. Austin Tango was played again in 2010 at the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) with the participation of 200 young guitarists under the direction of Michael Quantz.
