Being alone on stage is a perilous exercise, without a safety net.

Let's say it requires a certain taste for risk… Just as a tightrope walker takes on challenges in the face of the absolute, accepting the movements of the air and gusts of wind, so too is going on stage alone a challenge… When creating, one must love to confront the void without reference points, without guarantees.

To embark on a journey into the unconscious. But isn't that the very essence of what we do? Doesn't being an artist mean accepting chance? I was fifteen/sixteen when I started performing "alone on stage" in small venues. I told stories and sometimes indulged in long digressions.

It was during a solo concert at the Café de la Gare that my life changed… The solo is a treasure hunt, which allows for a certain form of improvisation… And the proximity to the audience creates an intimacy that allows them to experience the songs in their almost original version...

SOLISSIMO is a different concert, with a different repertoire, like a return to the roots, a return to the superlative essential… CharlElie COUTURE
