The International Festival Ballet and the Festival Orchestra present Casse-Noisette, the most famous ballet tale of all time. Set to the music of Piotr Ilitch Tchaïkovski and choreographed by Lev Ivanov and Marius Petipa, this enchanting show transports both young and old into the magic of Christmas. The story follows Marie, who receives a nutcracker on Christmas Eve and plunges into a fantastic dream populated by toy soldiers, the Mouse King, and the Kingdom of Sweets. Accompanied by a live orchestra, the ballet captivates with its elegance, poetry, and enchanting universe. The production stands out with its sumptuous sets by scenographer Vyacheslav Okunev, a collaborator of the Mariinsky Theatre and La Scala. Founded in 2009, the International Festival Ballet brings together 42 dancers from over twenty countries. Trained in the greatest European schools, they perpetuate the tradition of Russian classical ballet with virtuosity and modernity. Under the musical direction of Normunds Vaicis, the Festival Orchestra accompanies this work with emotion and excellence.
