Everyone is celebrating the young woman's coming of age. Later in the evening, Clara goes to join her friends to continue the party. On the way, the demons that have troubled her throughout her childhood return to haunt her.
It is at this moment that the Nutcracker appears to help Clara defeat these monsters from the past.
To bring this work up to date, the atmosphere of this version will transport you to an enchanting, magical and fairy-tale world while retaining Tchaikovsky's musical ambiance, essential to this ballet.
The lightness of the music will contrast with the particular atmosphere of the various encounters and the mix of cultures. It is one of the most famous and accessible ballets in the world of dance.
Laurent Drousie offers a new, more contemporary and modern version that does not omit the foundations of this rite of passage – a young girl becoming a woman who meets her first love – but offers it another interpretation.
