Presented by Vertigo. True cultural bridges between peoples united by the Portuguese language, the duo Calema, formed by brothers António and Fradique Mendes Ferreira, brilliantly embodies the soul and richness of Lusophony.

Originally from São Tomé and Príncipe, they were raised amidst the traditions of Lusophone Africa and the contemporary influences of Portugal and France. Their name, Calema, refers to the powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean, symbolising movement, cultural blending, and travel.

Through their music, a clever mix of afrobeat, pop, and traditional sounds, they tell universal stories in Portuguese, touching the hearts of millions of fans across all continents.

Today, they are the most popular Lusophone artists in Portugal, achieving top sales and filling the country's largest venues. Their music video for “Te Amo” has over 82 million views on YouTube.

This success testifies to their ability to unite, to move, and to proudly represent contemporary Lusophone culture.

In 2024, the group celebrated 15 years of their career with the release of their latest album “Voyage”, a blend of pop, afro, and Latin sounds, which was accompanied by a European Zéniths tour in 2025 and their first sold-out Accor Arena show.

Returning to France, they will be in concert this autumn in 2026.
