Overview
When Alice was born in 1929, nothing destined her to become an engineer, even though her parents were exceptional. After a happy childhood, the Second World War tore the family apart.
Having obtained her baccalaureate, her uncle, a Compagnon de la Libération, and her aunt changed her life by encouraging her to join ESPCI, the school of Pierre and Marie CURIE. There, she met Robert, her future husband.
In 1954, a school friend introduced her to the only company manufacturing French computers, SEA, founded by the brilliant François-Henri RAYMOND. Alice – supported by her husband – discovered a passion there.
In the late 1960s, having become a computer architect and mother of three children, Alice defied her superiors and the Plan Calcul: she invented the MITRA 15, which gave France sovereignty in several vital areas. In the 1980s, she also became an AI specialist...
