Can theatre save lives? Yes! It was in prison that Redwane Rajel met directors who would change his life. After performing under the direction of Joël Pommerat and Olivier Py, the former inmate moves beyond self-narration and shares with us what his life was like, from his childhood in a working-class neighbourhood of Avignon to the fight that went wrong and landed him in the Pontet penitentiary. Alone on stage, empowered by his newfound freedom and his discovery of theatre, which offers him a new role in society, the man transforms the experience of detention into a vibrant, funny, and deeply sincere monologue. We delve into the intimate reality of sentences to be served, and this individual salvation through art offers a taste of hope and a triumph over destiny.
